Each Trustedreviews.com writer has listed their top 5 games of all time in a rather lengthy, but nostalgic article. http://www.trustedreviews.com/article.aspx?page=8102&head=0.
Interesting that the PC, spectrum and N64 seem to have the most entries. No xbox and only a handful of PS2.
So to the club, which are your top 5's?

This is difficult beyond belief, only 5?!
I shall have a stab at mine, in no particular order:
Unreal Tourny (PC)
Star Wars: KOTOR (XBOX)
Deus Ex (PC)
Ghost Recon 2 (PC)
Oblivion (360)
... and I have left out X-Wing v Tie Fighter, Blade Runner, Quake 3. Hmmm, maybe I'll revise this list later!
Super Mario Kart (N64)
Little Big Adventure (Amiga)
Tetris (Game Boy)
Lumines (PSP)
Jet Set Willy (Spectrum)
Mine aren't in any particular order, the fact that they're in my top 5 means they're pretty near perfect...
Daytona (Arcade)
Elite (ZX Spectrum)
Super Mario Bros (NES)
Gradius (Arcade)
Liberty City Stories (PSP)
The first arcade entries! had forgotten about the GTA series as well...
My misspent youth involved lots of time in arcades. Couldn't keep me out of them.
think im finding it difficult to name 5 games i really like!
gt4 of course i think is my fave of faves (ps2)
i spent a good 190+ hours on ffx(ps2)
gta lcs(psp) or gta sa(ps2)
who can forget max payne!!!? all those hours of sitting in the dark shitting yourself!(pc)
old school - bugaboo(spectrum 48k with rubber keys 5 min load time (they really should make that for download on mobile or something!) YEAH BABY!)
there you go. 5/6 games.
im into whatevers around really but mainly 1playa shit.
Not really in order
Deus Ex (PC)
Zelda Ocarina of Time(GC)
Mario 64 (GC)
ICO (PS2)
Colossal Cave (BBC model B)
Each of these games made a lasting impression on me.
Honourable mentions to GTA:SA, The Hobbit, Shadow of the Colossus, Q3A, Goldeneye, Ocarina of Time... (really just a crafty way of making mine a top 10... uh 11)
Good topic Munchk.
Oh.. Eve Online too. Make that 12. Sorry.
In my honourable mentions I meant, of course, Wind Waker, not Ocarina again.
Oh... what about HalfLife?
dammit, forgot half life and max payne. Good mentions for both.
I think generally the consensus is that 5 is way to small a list!
This also makes me want to get Mario64, which I might reserve for a holiday game (5 weeks and counting!).
Nice to see some PS2 entries, a console with such an impact should have some entries.
Hold on lads, here's some more...
Pole Position (Arcade -- especially the one in Borth Arcades where I was a racing god for a wonderful beautiful afternoon and actually drew a crowd)
The Legend Of Zelda (NES)
I was prepared to hate it after I first saw the graphics and the way the screens changed from one to another, but got massively addicted and spent two weeks at boarding school playing this surrounded by other geeks, hand drawn maps, copies of Nintendo power and empty bottles of Jolt cola. "Just shoot the fuckin Peehat already and get into the hole" became our sad catch phrase. Made more sense at the time.
Super Ghosts and Goblins (SNES) What were they thinking? Why is it so hard? Memories of playing this whilst wasted amid cries of "Super Underpants Man" in a scottish accent for some reason. When the protagonist gets hit too many times, he's left with nothing but his undercrackers.
Super Contra (SNES) Best use of mode7 and BFO bosses evar.
Harrier Attack (ZX Spectrum) which had a superb glitch -- if you bombed your own aircraft carrier as you took off, you'd have to fly on through the mission and ditch the plane in the sea when it ran out of fuel.
Jet Pac (ZX Spectrum). The colour clash, the sprite collision and the web splitch death sound effects will haunt me forever.
Oh man, I could do this all day...
also on the 'speccy', back2skool.
No mention for SF2 yet either...
Halo 2 should also rank high for me, and no mention of Midtown Madness 1/2/3, cmon guys, does anyone have my car?!?!
3D Monster Maze (ZX81)
Zombies Ate My Neighbors (SNES)
Deus Ex Machina (ZX Spectrum)
Harvest Moon (GBA)
Geez, so much of my life, pissed away in front of a flickering screen...
You *know* 'd do it the same again given the chance.
So, new topic:
You've been given the chance to play all the games again.
Which would you bury under the sand in the desert and forget about?
My starter for ten:
Simpsons (SNES)
Another toughy. Its got to be Tomb Raider 2 for me.
hmph, copy cats:
