Couple of (kinda) gun-related posts that caught my eye on Wonderland this morning.
First is a guy, playing WoW who nearly got shot in the head through a wall by his neighbour who was playing with his gun collection in the bathroom. Guys are both soldiers, but this raises the question - what was the other guy doing playing with all those guns in his bathroom? Would you clean a gun in the bathroom? It's not like you run them under the tap. I have an image in my head, and it ain't pretty.
Second is an anti-war protestor called dead_in_iraq who logs onto the US-Army-FPS-cum-recruiting-tool America's Army and instead of joining a team and shooting, he stands, unarmed and recites the names of the US soldiers who have died in the Iraq war.

'Fi day
Its that day again, gather the games, crisps, pop and booze! Will be picking up Rockstars Table Tennis later as well, so may bring the 360, if anyone is interested in seeing it? Apparently the multiplayer is pretty good (i.e. HD Pong!)

Use CF cards with your PSP
PSPWorld.com has a nice bit of kit that allows you to plug a CF card into your PSP. It also has a USB2.0 port on it so you can just bung it straight onto the pooter. An SD, or multi-type one of these would be really cool. I wonder how it affects the ergonomics of the PSP though.

DS Lite hits the UK 23 June
Guardian Games Blog (mmmm Aleks) reports that Nintendo have announced the UK release date for DS Lite to be 23 June, only a couple of weeks after the US release.
The price is an astounding $58 more though! As they're non regional, I'd just get one from Japan or USA if I wanted one.

h i r 0 has a posse!
Yeah, well it was inevitable really, once word of my gaming l337ness got around, that someone was going to start a fan site about me.
Don't be sad though pals. I'm sure some of my megastardom will rub off on you guys and ver kids will be making MySpace sites about you all soon!
In the meantime, Munchk's Xbox 360 has gotten all HAL 9000 on us and started it's own blog.
I reckon Ruut's AIBO should start blogging too!

'Fi to the Finnish
Ghat Dham, it's 'Fi Club time again, life is passing us by so fast these days, blink and you'll misquote a movie.
Through the bleary mists of sobriety, I'm remembering back to a 'who's the host?' conversation that we had chez Munchk. IIRC we decided it was at RICHARD's house this time, desu ne?
Time to start making that kick-ass hummous.

Smile! You're on Google Video
Well, sort of. My phone exported it sideways, like this, but I turned it round in QT Pro, so I have no idea why GV decided to turn it back to portrait again. Never mind, you'll just have to turn your monitor, your desk or even your head to 90 degrees to watch it.

T-shirts, posters, all official merchandise, like
Been looking at Spreadshirt for the kite shop, and they have a really nice selection of t-shirts and stuff. If we knock up a good, hi-res logo, and maybe some funny one-liners we could make and order a batch of 'Fi Club stuff and save on postage.
Who'd be up for that?

E3: Guitar Hero 2
Not PSP news but this has become a firm 'Fi favourite. The Karaoke for techies is back!
From Penny Arcade...
Just got an E3 PR blurb for Guitar Hero 2, and I was overjoyed to hear that it listed a few of the playable songs on the new game. Observe:The top-secret sequel song list remains firmly in the rock domain, with more than 55 songs being featured in the next installment.Confirmed for E3 are seven playable tracks including: "PsychobillyFreakout," "Strutter," "Who Was in My Room Last Night," "You ReallyGot Me," "War Pigs," "YYZ" and "Arterial Black." Also confirmed arein-game appearances by returning guitar hero Judy Nails and the newRockabilly guitarist. For those of you playing the home game, we're talking about Reverend Horton Heat, KISS, Butthole Surfers, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, and Rush. Looks like Drist is back in, too. Pretty big news.Thought you might be interested

Take2 announce GTA:Vice City Stories for PSP
Today Take2 games formally announced Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories for the PSP.
Quoth Sam Houser, founder of R*:
"The success of Liberty City Stories on the PSP system was nothing short of spectacular. The incredible PSP system technology allowed us to do things we never thought possible on a handheld system and we are excited to once again give our audience a fresh experience in one of their favorite locales in the Grand Theft Auto series, Vice City. With Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories we look to once again smash expectations of portable gaming, bringing an all new story and exciting new gameplay elements to this classic setting."
At least it makes a change from all those tiresome table tennis titles.

Gran Turismo 4 Mobile
Accordian to Gamespot, GT4M is due out in Japan tomorrow.
Is this true? I haven't heard any new buzz about this game for so long that I'd kind of given up on it. In order to find out the truth, we sent our intrepid browser over to Play.com to see if it's up for sale. They seem to think that the release date to ship to UK is June 2nd (for £29.99 inclusive of shipping, kicking and dropping!) but they don't say wether it's the UKian, USian or Japian version.
Now I is all excited.

And God created the sun and the Earth and the 'Fi.
Verily, it was writ by the ancients that the next 'Fi Club shall be held on a Friday, fourtene nights from the last, at a place to be chosen by the devoted few, where playstationne games will be played unless the night be hosted in a wireless dead zone, when films will be watched while ale and colas be quaffed.
And they saw that it was good.
I thought I'd get this one in early so we can all put it into our calendars and not forget. I'll host if there are no objections?

Mercury Meltdown & Syphon delayed
Another pre-E3 announcement for the PSP. Ignition Enterntainment have announced a sequel to the equally innovative and frustrating Mercury: the memorably monickered Mercury Meltdown.
Featuring a new cel-shaded graphical style, 160 new levels, party- and mini- games and more 1-on-1 wireless goodness. Certainly a contender for the next alone-on-the-bus game.
It also appears that the release date for Syphon Filter has slipped. Amazon and Play are both reporting the delivery date as June 30 now.
