I will deffo get a PS3 eventually, when they've dropped price a little, and the games are re-released in GOTY editions for half the price.

The price thing is interesting, despite all the xbox comparrisons, most people seem to think that the PS3 will not be that overpriced relative to the 360.
The problem ia apparently the blu ray drive. Seems a shame they didnt release a version that didnt have it to cut the price.
Obviously they're hoping that Blu Ray will do for PS3 what the DVD drive did for PS2.

I'm prolly going to sit this next gen out. Nintendo Wii looks good, and I think it'll be a huge success.
Sony seem to be en route to implosion lately. I see very little on PS3 that would make me choose it over a 360. Similar graphics, similar game style, yet by the time it's released, 360 will be on it's second or third release of games and developers will be well settled into the system. Add to that the fact that the 360 pad is, IMHO, a better design than the PS3 pad (which is based on an ergonomic layout over ten years old) and that Sony have never been good at writing software, so I can't see their Live! service being as good as XBox Live! and I think that they're in for a real trek.
If I was to get one of the three on offer, I'd prolly go for Wii.

what do you rekon to ficlub buying a ps3? - then 2 weeks each ownership - names out of a hat for first dibs - £65 notes each - you buy a game when you get the console and pass it on etc......

I'd be up for doing that with Nintendo Wii, which is more of a party toy. Not sure how I feel about PS3 yet, so I might take some convincing of it yet.
Good idea though, it'll be like taking turns to take the school hamster home at christmas.
Then again, our cat ate the school hamster...
Yeah, but the Wii is cheap enough that I will get one anyway. The trouble with the PS3 is that it's an expensive bit of kit for one person to buy.
So, I'll have a Wii anyway and be happy to lug it around to 'Fi Club if it's needed.
