Halo 3 Emblem Compo

If there's one thing we can all agree on it's the need for a unifying emblem for all Fi-ers, so I propose a quick'n'dirty compo to settle the matter.

Everyone who wants to can create an emblem in-game, copy it from their Bungie.net profile page and submit it in the comments. Anyone who's not a blog member but who'll be playing with us (Fictionkite, BigUpStu, etc.) let me know and I'll post it for you.

Then at some point in the near future, we'll all vote for our favourites and the majority vote wins. We can then all use that as our emblem when playing in a team.

There is an emblem generator online HERE. It's clear from the generator that your secondary armour colour (the flashes on the arms etc.) does affect the emblem - it's the colour that the Emblem Background takes on.

Or at least I thought this was a good idea, and I don't mind changing in the slightest...

It does seem a bit more formidable when the matchmaking finishes procrastinating and you see a team full of people with the same icon. It makes me think that if they've got it together enough to do that, then they must be at least slightly organised.

Shits me up, anyway.

Do we want to share the logo but not the colours? Personally I don't play with any colour brighter than a grey in my armour or icon because the first thing I see when I'm targeting someone is their bright yellow go faster stripes or jazzy logo. Duller the better I say, but then that's me all over.

I like anything that looks military as a logo, so the shield background is my favourite. Over the top, I went for the phoenix cuz it looked like the old german eagle, but I'm easy on that. Linky

I can see your thinking but most of the time we're bright blue or red anyway, so the symbol colour makes little difference anyway.

Yeah, so that's why we need to avoid colours -- if we're red and we have blue or yellow, we stand out.

It was just an idea, it's-a-no-problem.

But don't we stand out already because we're bright blue or red?

only in team games, not in slayer or dm, and we have to wear that badge always

I can see your point. Maybe I'm underestimating the visibility of the emblem.

Yeah... personally I always saw players then shot at them... emblems really no great shakes, but I understand that I have old and failing eyesight.

The games seemed so frenetic that there wasn't much scope for trying to 'hide' with low-key armor.

Need to play more single player stuff to find out though... all my proper games were team games last night with king s u d 0

LET THE VOTES DECIDE! =D

Vote PINK!

Maybe we should have Union-style block voting, where your Kill-Death ratio gives you extra votes...

so everyone starts with 100 votes, and then you multiply this by your k-d ratio to give your final say?

andybeta said...

Or... we could forget voting and play Slayer (All v All) for the right to choose.

not pink... please...

lol

No, not pink - I like sud0's idea - play a series of Slayers, maybe, tomorrow night, to see who has the right to get their (non pink) badge on everybody's arm.

It's on the back actually.

Can't we all just get along?

Not a serious entry (neither is Sim's above). I will link final entries in the story post.

Ruut - is the Phoenix your entry?

I think voting is just fine.

The Phoenix is my entry.
