Lumines II, EEE announced

PSPworld have the story.

EEE = Every Extend Extra. You can see some footage on Google video. As I understand it you position your 'ship' amongst the clusters of enemies and then self destruct aiming to cause a chain reaction that will wipe out as many as possible. I believe the gameplay is also tied in with the music similar to Rez and Lumines. It's a game I've had my eye on for a while.

Both due out in the Autumn.

In-car system featuring GBA

This is nice.

An in-car entertainement system with a built-in GBA, DVD, Wireless headphones and controllers, dockable so you don't get robbed.

Clootie, just think - you wouldn't hear a peep from those kids for the entire journey!

Just some really nice touches going on there. I'd like to see a PSP one too.

Flippi-neck -- it's a Fi Club week already...

... and the honour of being this week's celebrity host is still very much up for grabs -- see? It even says so in the blab bar to the right. Go look, we'll wait.

And you're back. God that bar is great, isn't it? All those handy game related links and contributor names, puts me in awe of the coding geniuses (geniii?) who put all this together. Oh wait, there's their names down there at the bottom -- Ruut and h i r 0, wow, how cool.

"Ah" you say (you do, I can hear you) "Ah, but how do I get my own 1337 web style name box thingy down there? How can I truly feel like I belong and that my name is up there in lights with the greats?"

That's a good question, and I'm glad you asked (and gave this post true purpose and meaning) -- just post a comment, and request one, and I'll knock one up on my computing machine over here and do the clicking and the tapping and it'll magically appear. Your name. On the internets. Awesome.

Alternatively, because we're an equal opportunity club and everyone must be allowed to contribute, make your own and send it on over to me and I'll put it on the page, toot sweet. Make yourself a dandy button here and you can hang out with the cool kids after school and bum cigarettes off them too.

Oh yeah, and we still need a host.

[Update]
Bonza! This week's artery hardening festival of snacks and toys is being held at the Big Pink Place, courtesy of Munchk. Geometry Wars! Shotgun! (Unless I'm driving, of course!)

'Fi Club 14 April

I'm happy to host unless anyone else is desperate to do so.

Ruut - do you want to go halves on Guitar Hero (out today)? Just a thought. I know I've been kinda hogging the communal PS2 recently...

From the Mouths of Babes

A bunch of kids slag off the games we played when we were a bunch of kids... And you know what? I reckon they're right.

On Adventure:

Bobby: A duck ate me.

EGM: What ate you?

Parker: A pink duck.

EGM: What do you think this character's name is?

Parker: Dot. Or Adventure?

On Mike Tyson's Punch-Out:

Garret: That's not Mike Tyson. Are you kidding me? Mike Tyson does not have a handlebar moustache, and he's not white.

EGM: [Laughing] So those are the two things that make you think that's not Mike Tyson?

Garret: Yeah, plus this guy's wearing pants.

Some gems in here.

Atom Films

As the major film studios pull out of UMD distribution it seems downloadable content just gets stronger and stronger.

Atom Films are now offering their downloads in PSP format, in addition to PC/Mac and iPod.

Atom say:

AtomFilms is a pioneer in the digital video space delivering the highest-quality short-form comedies, animations and dramas to more than five million people each month.
It's worth grabbing a few random shorts to watch on your next commute, or while you're waiting for the missus to get out of the bathroom.

PSP arts initiative by ICA

The BBC reports that London's Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) are releasing a bi-monthly 10 minute long art show for PSP users.

ICA: The Show includes short features on emerging New York band Battles and the recent fantasy film Mirrormask.

ICA artistic director Ekow Eshun said the initiative was "putting art and culture directly in people's hands".

Arts minister David Lammy said the scheme could represent "a pivotal development for culture in the UK".

Each show, available to download from the website yourpsp.com, is divided into four segments - features, film, music and design.

Details of each episode are available from ICA-theshow.com and you can get the download directly from YourPSP.com.

I just tried the download, it's a bugger to find, quite honestly. I'm going to email ICA to tell them. What you need to do is:
  1. Plug your PSP in and put it in USB mode
  2. On the computer, browse to YourPSP.com
  3. Click PSP Downloads
  4. Click Out Now
  5. Clicker Filter By and select ICA from the drop-down.
  6. Fill out the details in the pop-up (your yourpsp.com ID and password.)
Frankly this is a palaver for a niche download. If they really want to get this onto people's PSPs they need to make the download a hell of a lot easier. PSPDrive.com do it a whole lot better.
