Bad news from Hollywood.

HolywoodReporter.com reports, quite aptly, from Hollywood that Universal, Paramount and Image are all pulling out of the UMD movie business. Also many stores are reducing shelf space for the movies, and rumours have it that Wal-Mart are dropping the range altogether.

Having never bought a UMD movie I guess I'm part of the problem, but I'd rather have a decent sized Memory Stick Duo and buy DVD movies to rip.

And just to help things along, here's a great How-To for ripping DVDs to your PSP.

I like them, I have two and have rented a couple for travelling with.

I'm going to buy up anything that's half decent on UMD when the prices get closer to movie rental prices. I want Akira, Fifth Element and HHGTTG at least.

Today's new word is llary.

I like the idea of them, but I don't like paying for my media twice, nor do I think I should have to.

Give me a UMD burner though...
