Finally we have a confirmed release date for Rock Band in Europe.
Eurogamer report that the game will ship on May 23rd, for 360 only.
Keeping it short here, click the link for EG's post, and a look at exclusive UK tracks.
Furthermore, as you were wondering about it, the prices will be as follows:
you will have to fork out for on an Instrument Edition at GBP 129.99 / EUR 169 - comprised of the drum kit, guitar and microphone - then buy the game separately for GBP 49.99 / EUR 69.99.
Why don't we just bend over right now?

I'll give it a miss. I like GH, and I already have one and a half guitars for that.
I wouldn't mind picking up a drum kit on its own for Garage Band though. Maybe when they sell them off in Woolies...
I've put off buying GH3 in order to pick this up. Mightily annoyed.
Hope it's a mistake or that the building online outcry makes them reconsider.
Play seem to have the game and instruments for £140 for pre-order.
I'm going to wait at this point. I'll still be deep into GTA on May 23rd.
I must say I'm enjoying the fall-out immensely.
The other side of this is the eternally long wait we've had for it, and the fact that at the end of it all, it's just guitar hero with different songs, drums and a mic.
Personally, I don't want to sing, and I don't want to hear any one else sing. The best thing about GH is that when you play well it sounds just like the track should. I used to look at the singstar demo in shops and shudder...
I'm not a fan of singing either but singstar is quite fun (your vocal volume can be turned down, so if you 'sing' quietly, everyone else hears the original vocals). I expect RB's vocals will be slightly different but work in a similar way. The vocals are, of course, optional.
Or, just turn up the TV (and 'sing' quietly) to drown out the vocals!
(maybe...?)
Does anyone know if the GH3 guitars will work with RB?
It's reported that GH controllers work with RB. Additionally a standard X360 headset mic will suffice for the singing.
I can see the mic not being the most used item in the box, but I would use it in the comfort of my own home with no spectators.
I've been wanting to do the drums since day 1 though, and, like I said, have put off buying a guitar game intending to buy the entire package and kill two birds with one stone.
EA can suck my balls now, though.
My balls too. They can suck mine also.
Fuck EA, they spoil all our parties. I'll never forgive them for Burninout 3.
Now some arrogant fuck from Harmonix decides to chip in and patronise us a bit.
EA AND Harmonix can now suck my balls. One each.
We're going to have the cleanest balls evar.
There's too much other stuff to play without spending over the odds to play something that is *that* similar to a game we have already played to death.
Plus, with all the reports of the guitar controllers failing and the pedals breaking, I really don't want to pay to play.
I think Sony was the last company that contemptuously pissed us off this much and how many of us have PS3s yet? Look at the opportunity Sony's rudeness has lost them to have us lot hacking more of their kit and stealing more of the shit.
Their loss. Word up, Harmonixa, you can join EA, Sony and Anthony Devaney in the 'Fi Club lavatory of shame. We saved you a place in the pool of piddle behind the pan.
